Minnesota United FC is the new face of professional soccer in Minnesota. Formerly Minnesota Stars FC, the newly rebranded team will play their home games at the National Sports Center Stadium. Despite the nickname of "The Team Nobody Wanted" (for their difficulties finding an owner), this scrappy team has been a strong performer in the NASL, with a league championship in 2011 and an appearance in the finals in 2012. Their die-hard attitude attracted the attention of Minnesota businessman Dr. William McGuire, who bought the team and is ready to support them on the way to more victories, beginning with signing some of the best players in the NASL. Among the new acquisitions is Pablo Campos, last season's top goal scorer.
