Mu Daiko Drumming

Innovative Japanese-style Taiko drumming ensemble Mu Daiko comes to the Maplewood Performing Arts Theatre for a special concert event. Founded in 1997, Mu Daiko has attracted a loyal and expanding audience with its dynamic annual concerts. Under the leadership of Artistic Director Iris Shiraishi, this acclaimed, Twin Cities-based group integrates traditional melodies and original compositions into an ever-evolving repertoire. Highlights for the rhythmic ensemble include a record-setting 15th anniversary concert and tour featuring internationally renowned guest artists Hanayui of Kodo. The group also recently starred in the live concert documentary film Mu Daiko in Concert.
