Join philanthropic leader Reatha Clark King, former Minneapolis Mayor Donald Fraser, and University of Minnesota historian Paul Stone as they reflect upon on the role Hubert H. Humphrey played in the groundbreaking 1964 Civil Right Act. Considered among the most significant legislation of the 20th century, the Civil Rights Act was a milestone in Humphrey’s progressive legacy and the Democratic Party’s platform.  A companion exhibit in the UROC gallery traces Humphrey’s role in the landmark legislation through photographs and artifacts.  Both event and exhibit are produced in partnership between the Humphrey School of Public Affairs, the Office for Public Engagement, and the Office of the Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost.
