The Salvation Army's 9th annual MOST Amazing Race presented by CenterPoint Energy will be on Saturday, July 26, 2014. The goal of the event is to engage a younger demographic with The Salvation Army and raise critical funds to help with their homelessness/hunger programs. Over the past eight years, the race has raised over $440,000 through our 1,000 participants and numerous sponsors. The day-long official Aquatennial event includes a qualifying race in the morning which narrows all the teams down to 30 teams that then compete that afternoon in a 4-6 hour race around Minneapolis with a $5,000 grand prize. The race is very similar to the TV show and includes challenges that must be finished in order to move on - challenges are physical, mental, tedious, eating, problem solving, etc. Teams of two navigate between challenges riding MetroTransit or on foot with starting/finish line near the Stone Arch Bridge on the last day of Aquatennial. The finish line is in a private area with amazing views of the Target Fireworks that night.
