John Ervin is the award-winning director of seven films and three live theater productions. His latest movie, the "Mad Men"-inspired feature "The Tiki War", is slated for completion in Fall, 2014. Production info, photos and updates can be found at www.thetikiwar.com.
His first movie, the German expressionist feature "Made in Berlin" was shot on 16mm black-and-white film stock in Minneapolis in 1997. His second feature, the Russ Meyer tribute "Vixen Highway" was shot throughout rural and urban Minnesota in 2000 and won awards for Best International Director and Best International Supporting Player.
The futuristic dominatrix-rehab fable, "Proinhibition', followed in 2003 and has been shown at festivals in New York City, Australia and France. In 2013, John completed the cocaine cautionary tale, "Citizen 'Caine", which has been presented at the Minneapolis Underground Film Festival, Cinema Wasteland and the Fargo Fantastic Film Festival. John holds a BA in Film from San Francisco State University and a certificate in Web Design from Minneapolis Community Technical College. He has also written on film, politics and entertainment for City Pages and The Rake.
